Marseille Block

Marseille soap is the oldest hygienic soap used in France. It's manufacturing process, " the cauldron cooking " inspired Aleppo Soap which characterizes it, marking it 72 % vegetable oil or olive oil and guaranteeing the quality that distinguishes it from other soaps !

'La Maison du Savon de Marseille' offers you the original recipe of olive oil blocks and loaves. Appreciated for its properties rich in vitamin E, it is used on the entire body and face, softening, protecting and deeply hydrating the skin from dryness.

Marseille Loaves

Also called Grandmother Soap, which differs from the block because the soap is poured into molds in lime wood, then dried for 48 hours. This process creates a hard crust on the outside but the soap remains soft on the inside as it is not compressed, unlike the block. These blocks once removed from these forms are handcrafted in our workshops, where they are cut, stamped, punched and stringed. When drying, soap will lose 10% of its weight and will tend to bend naturally, making each loaf of soap unique.
